- When does the lab actually open?
- September 30, 2026 in Connecticut. We're finalizing the space now. Anyone who buys a pass before opening day gets the pre-launch rate locked in — and if we slip the launch by more than 30 days, you get a full refund or a free extension on your pass. Your call.
- Where in Connecticut?
- We're picking the space now — somewhere in the greater Waterbury/Hartford corridor. The exact address goes out by email the day we open the doors. (The Waterbury studio at 1604 Thomaston Ave is our design office, not the makerspace.)
- Why are you charging now if it's not open?
- So you can claim pre-launch pricing and so we can size the space and the bench/locker count to actual demand. If the launch slips past 30 days from September 30, 2026, every pre-launch pass gets a full refund automatically — no questions, no support tickets.
- Can I cancel or get a refund?
- Day Passes, Print Jobs, and Volume Packs are final sale once paid — but reschedulable once within the validity window if you can't make it. Workshops can be rescheduled up to 48 hours before the session. Memberships cancel anytime — you're billed only for the months you've used; current month isn't pro-rated back. Welcome-kit hardware is yours from purchase: unopened can be returned within 14 days for a full refund; opened is non-returnable unless defective. Everything goes through Stripe so refunds hit the original card in 3–5 business days. Full mechanic on the Cancellation Policy page.
- Do I need to book a time slot?
- Day Passes are walk-in during lab hours. Workshops and scheduled sessions use the slot you pick at checkout. Members with Pro Bench access book dedicated blocks through the portal.
- What's actually included in materials?
- Every tier ships with a real material credit you can spend on filament or resin (your call): $5 on a Day Pass, $25/month on Creator, $100/month on Pro Bench. Plus laser time — 15 min on Day Pass, 30 min/month on Creator, unlimited on Pro Bench. Top up beyond the credit at retail (Day Pass), 20% off (Creator), or 30% off (Pro Bench). Bring your own for larger jobs anytime — we keep a materials cabinet on-site for common stock if you forget something.
- What if I've never used a 3D printer before?
- First-visit orientation is included on every pass. We walk you through the equipment you'll use, run your first print with you, and show you the material options. Bring a design or use ours.
- Do I need an account to buy a pass?
- No. Checkout is email-only. We issue a portal link with your receipt — use it any time to view the pass, re-issue the QR, or buy another without re-entering details.
